Brendan Nugentot, a Haines választókerületéhez tartozó Tarrawingee nevű vidéki település 43 éves lakosát három bűncselekménnyel vádolták meg: súlyos sérülést okozó veszélyes vezetéssel, súlyos sérülés szándékos okozásával, valamint köztisztviselő elleni bántalmazással.

A bírósági iratokból kiderült, hogy Nugent ellen további vádakat is emeltek: kannabisztermesztés és -birtoklás miatt.

A gyanúsítottat a helyszínen járókelők fogták el, mielőtt őrizetbe vették volna.

She’s already lost one leg. Surgeons have been fighting to save the other. Police say it was targeted. The court was packed, media turned away, and the whole thing was over before most people finished their coffee. Neighbours had previously raised mental health concerns about him.
