Izrael népének címzett üzenetében biztosította teljes körű támogatásáról vasárnap Benjámin Netanjahu izraeli kormányfőt a közelgő izraeli választáson Donald Trump amerikai elnök a Truth Social közösségi oldalon.
"Bibi Netanjahu óriási ellenszélben bizonyult erős, bátor és okos vezetőnek. Minden nehézség ellenére kitartott, sőt még erősödött is. A lehető legnagyobb próbatételek közepette láttam őt. Egy átlagember összeroppant volna ilyen nyomás alatt, de Bibi nem roppant össze, hanem még erősebbé is vált" - írta Trump, kiemelve, hogy az Egyesült Államoknak Izrael részéről éppen ilyen partnerre van szüksége.
Bejegyzésében az amerikai elnök kifejtette, hogy Netanjahut "nagyszerű harcos miniszterelnöknek" és Iránnal szemben "remek békepartnernek" tartja. Felidézte, hogy "Irán már több mint 50 éve meg akarja semmisíteni Izraelt, és csak idő kérdése volt, hogy ezt meg is tegye". De aztán szisztematikusan elpusztították őket katonailag és pénzügyileg, és hacsak nem változtatnak gyorsan a dolgokon, akkor ezt (az Egyesült Államok és Izrael) be is fogja fejezni - fogalmazott.
"Ha Izrael élén nem a megfelelő vezető áll, vagyis bárki Bibin kívül, akkor Amerika kénytelen lesz maga elvégezni ezt a munkát, ezt pedig nem szeretném" - írta Trump.
