A már hivatakozott CNN-összeállításban egy rendőrségi vezető - ugyancsak fekete - elmondja, hogy a lelőtt férfi fegyverrel szállt ki az autójából, amit többszöri felszólításra sem akart eldobni, ami miatt veszélyesnek ítélték meg, ezért lőtték le. Könyvet viszont nem találtak, csak az említett fegyvert. Videók itt.
